March 25 – March 26, 2021
11:00am – 5:00 pm (Eastern)
This symposium highlights current work of ARC members promoting academic resilience throughout our institutions — in teaching and pedagogy, advising and coaching, student affairs, mental health and wellness, faculty/staff support, student-led/peer initiatives, and community development.
The event is designed to provide attendees with the chance to explore a wide range of informative and inspiring work, meet leading thinkers and practitioners, and engage with a community of peers in key fields related to academic resilience and student success.
Each session consists of a series of brief “show-and-tell” presentations organized by theme, followed by opportunities for peer discussion and consultation. For example, current (overlapping) areas of interest and activity among ARC members include: scaling a successful pilot program to have broader impact; removing systemic/institutional barriers to student success; creating collaborations across campus divisions/offices; academic resilience in online learning contexts; and implementing low-cost interventions with a big impact. In the spirit of promoting resilience, presenters are encouraged to share the set-backs and challenges they have encountered on their journey to “what works.”
The complete program will be posted and registration will open in mid-February. Hold the dates and stay tuned!
