ARC Leadership Steering Committee Responsibilities:

Chair

  • Overall management of ARC; Ensuring ARC meets its mission
  • Strategic planning with Vice-Chair, Treasurer, Secretary, and Education Coordinator
  • Chairing monthly ARC leadership meetings
  • Developing promotional materials such as flyers, brochures, and videos (with assistance from Communication Assistant and other leaders)
  • Coordinating annual conference and Chairing conference committee
  • Leading or designating and tracking all conference-related tasks
  • Overseeing advertising and fundraising; Assigning contracts and negotiations
  • Coordinating with the web developer (outside vendor) for the ARC website
  • Assigning tasks to update the ARC website
  • Outreach to similar or complementary organizations (e.g. JED Foundation) to create dually-branded content when appropriate
  • Leading subcommittee on fiscal sponsorship or 501c(3) status
  • Coordinating with Treasurer and Community Initiatives around finances
  • Gathering research-based content for ARC newsletter and website
  • Communicating with the Vice Chair, Treasurer, Secretary, and Education Coordinator to ensure all tasks are completed
  • Attending annual conference in person
  • Completing training on Community Initiatives, Fundrazr, Limelight, and Website Administration

Vice Chair

  • Assisting the Chair with the overall management of ARC
  • Scheduling monthly ARC leadership meetings
  • Strategic planning with the Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, and Education Coordinator
  • Directs applications for grants (with assistance of secretary and treasurer), with advice from Chair
  • Coordinating the annual conferences with the Chair
  • Creating the call for presenters
  • Identifying and inviting speakers
  • Assisting with identifying organizations/individuals to partner with
  • Promoting membership drive initiatives
  • Overseeing the Resource Library on website
  • Participating in all development of fiscal sponsorship or 501c(3) status
  • Organizing and chairing the ARC election process
  • Attending monthly ARC leadership meetings
  • Attending annual conference in person
  • Completing training on Community Initiatives, Limelight, and Website Administration

Treasurer

  • Maintaining ARC budget, donations, and spending log
  • Managing membership inquiries
  • Handling budget, all refund and receipt requests
  • Handling Fundrazr challenges (fiscal portal)
  • Monitoring ARC financial statements on a monthly basis
  • Approving and coding credit card statements
  • Working with Community Initiatives on ARC yearly budgeting
  •  Attending trainings of Community Initiatives
  •  Meeting with Community Initiatives when necessary to discuss budget and finances
  • Strategic planning with the Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary, and Education Coordinator
  • Promoting membership drive communication regarding fees, dues, and refunds
  • Leading subcommittee regarding membership/institutional membership costs
  • Participating in all development of fiscal sponsorship or 501c(3) status
  • Attending monthly ARC leadership meetings
  • Attending annual conference in person
  • Completing training on Community Initiative portal, Limelight, Divvy, Sage Intacct, Fundrazr, and Website
    Administration

Secretary

  • Attending, taking notes, and keeping records of all ARC leadership meetings (usually monthly)
  • Sending out progress reports following meetings
  • Leading the membership drive, development of LIST Servs, and outreach for membership
  • Keeping track of active and inactive memberships
  • Responsible for identifying and applying for grants (with guidance of Chair and Vice Chair)
  • Sending membership renewal emails
  • Upkeeping the listserv
  • Communication in Constant Contact
  • Strategic planning with the Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer, and Education Coordinator
  • Assisting with ARC elections
  • Attending annual conference in person
  • Assists with grant identification and application
  • Completing training on Community Initiatives, Limelight, and Website Administration

Education Coordinator

  • Planning and hosting 6 webinars/online workshops annually
  • Assessing webinars/online workshops and making changes to programming as appropriate
  • Working with Communications Assistant to post webinar/workshop materials to website
  • Strategic planning with the Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer, and Secretary
  • Assists Vice Chair with grant identification and application (with Secretary)
  • Attending monthly ARC leadership meetings
  • Attending annual conference in person
  • Completing training on Community Initiatives, Limelight, and Website Administration

Communications Assistant (Current Student Eligible)

  • Responsible for the development of the quarterly Newsletter
  • Responsible for updates to the ARC Website
  • Researching content and resources to distribute to ARC members through Constant Contact periodically
  • Sending regular communications to ARC members
  • Updating ARC’s Resource Library
  • Attending monthly ARC leadership meetings

Events Assistant (Current Student Eligible)

  • Assisting with coordination of annual Conference
  • Assisting with event promotion and marketing
  • Assisting with creating flyers, brochures, and other promotional materials for ARC
  • Supporting Communications Assistant with ARC Website maintenance
  • Attending monthly ARC leadership meetings
